Operations Project Engineer Calgary
The Operations Project Engineer is responsible for providing project engineering and project management services and ensuring sound project management practices are utilized in the areas of project development and execution.The Operations Project Engineer is also responsible for providing accurate, timely and insightful reporting on key project performance indicators to the members of the Operations Management team.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:

Perform engineering work that is within the Project Engineer’s scope of practice, and coordinate engineering work performed by internal and third party resources when outside of the Project Engineer’s scope of practice

Manage capital project costs through the AFE reporting system

Ensure all spending is in accordance with established authorities

Direct external parties (i.e. engineering and service providers) as required by the project

Manage project costs in the long-term best interests of all IPF stakeholders (unit holders, regulators, public, IPF personnel)

Forecast future spending on assigned projects monthly

Assist the Pipelines Operations Managers and Supervisors in scoping, planning and estimating projects for the following year’s budget

Complete projects on time, on schedule, and safely with minimal environmental impact, while ensuring that all projects are an operational and commercial success
Experience, Education and Skills:
- Professional Engineer in Alberta and Saskatchewan
- Project Management Professional accreditation is an asset
- 5 - 10 years of experience in a combination of facilities and project engineering, and project management roles in operating facilities in the energy or chemicals sectors
- Experience in the pipeline industry is a strong asset
- Ability to work on several projects at the same time
- Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills
