Key Activities and Responsibilities:

• Provide hydraulic modeling support to understand and to optimize pipeline throughput
• Provide regulatory and code expertise on issues pertaining to pipeline operation and maintenance
• Provide engineering support to the Management of Change process. This includes design and Process Hazard Analysis support
• Perform equipment and process troubleshooting, and lead equipment and pipeline optimization initiatives
• Participate in design reviews, hazard analyses, operability and maintainability reviews, and commissioning and start-up planning
• Provide general engineering expertise for day-to-day pipeline operation and maintenance
• Prepare annual power and property tax budgets
• Manage the power cost program: process invoices, report on forecasts and accruals, and review wire purchase obligations
• Coordinate the establishment of power service to new facilities and disconnection of service from abandoned facilities
• Maintain records of pipeline capacity and pumping facilities for annual reporting

Experience, Education and Skills:

• An engineering degree (preferably Chemical or Mechanical) and P.Eng. or E.I.T. registration with APEGGA and APEGS are essential for this position
• 5+ years of experience in a combination of facilities and project engineering roles in operating facilities in the energy or chemicals sectors
• Familiarity with applicable industry codes and regulations. Experience in the pipeline industry is a strong asset
• Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills
