Training Advisor Calgary
Reporting to the Director, Pipeline Field Operations and based out of Calgary, you will be responsible for strengthening Inter Pipeline’s formal training and competency program for its Canadian Operations, comprised of Conventional Pipelines, Oil Sands Pipelines, Ethane Extraction and operations support services.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
- Expand and maintain a formal Training & Competency Program for Canadian Operations
- Communicate an Annual Training Plan and regular progress on high-level development needs for field/plant operations, as well as operations supervisors, professionals and leaders
- Oversee the development and maintenance of individual Training Plans that cover technical, business, HR and personal career development needs
- Ensure training materials and training providers, whether in-house or externally, are suitable for the subject matter and competency needs of the target employees
- Work with in-house and external trainers to coordinate the efficient delivery of required training subjects
- Oversee a common, reliable system to maintain, retrieve and report on accurate training records for each operations employee or group
- Conduct audits and make recommendations to continuously improve the Training & Competency Program
- Work with operations management to ensure that new training requirements match changing business needs
Education, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in developing and implementing broad-based training programs
- Qualified as a professional-level trainer and can provide Train-the-Trainer training to in-house personnel
- Experience in developing busines-specific training material, relying on subject matter experts for content quality
- Proven ability to organize and motivate focus teams to develop training program tools and materials
- Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and ability to quickly learn other software tools
