Summer Student: Bow River Pipeline Field Operations
Coronation/Hardisty
Reporting to the Bow River Pipeline (BRPL) District 3 Supervisor, the summer student will be responsible for providing general field support to the Inter Pipeline Fund BRPL system in the Coronation & Hardisty Area.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
- Vegetation management at various locations including stations, block valves, pig traps, and lact sites
- Painting at various locations including stations, block valves, pig traps, and lact sites
- Data entry at Coronation and Hardisty field offices - internal website, Ticket Capture and Maximo systems
- Assist Operations field staff by conducting routine tasks - maintenance such as general pump repair, meter repair and replacements, collecting and processing crude oil samples
- Right of Way Patrol - ensuring all signs are in place and meet Inter Pipeline and regulators expectations
- Monitoring the Throne Truck unload and processing crude oil samples
Education, Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of Grade 12 education and enrolled in a related post secondary program
- Intermediate MS Office skills and experience with Word and Excel
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimum supervision
- Able to work well in a fast-paced, growth environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Safety training: First Aid, H2S Alive is an asset and will be required
