Project Integration Advisor

The Project Integration Advisor is responsible for providing operational knowledge to expansion projects on the Cold Lake pipeline system and to coordinate commissioning and linefill start-up activities. The position will also be responsible for facilitating communication and operational input during the design phase of major projects in design review meetings HazOp’s and weekly operations meetings. This position is located at the Sherwood Park Office and reports to the Project Integration Specialist in Sherwood Park.

Key Activities and Responsibilities:

  •  Develop the Commissioning and Line Fill Management plan in conjunction with Operations and project personnel to ensure the safe and environmentally sound start-up of a project
  • Maintain efficient communication between Operations and Inter Pipeline Project Managers throughout the duration of the project by participating in weekly project meetings
  • Provide operational insight into project scope development and cost estimates to ensure designs and estimates accurately reflect current site conditions, future business needs, and address operability issues
  • Facilitate and promote clear and timely communication between Operations, Construction Management, and the Contractor by participating in Shutdown Review meetings, and construction meetings
  • Facilitate effective and timely communication between the affected Operations group and the Project Manager to identify profitable design enhancements by participating in design review meetings, HazOp’s and weekly Operations Maintenance Shutdown meetings
  • Help develop and implement Job Task Analysis (JTA’s) when required during construction
  • Coordinate activities related to linefill commissioning and start-up of pipelines and facilities including resource planning and coordination and scheduling of external service providers
  • Coordinate efforts to resolve project deficiencies and punch lists that exist post-transition to operations

Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in pipelines and pipeline facilities
  • Provincial Journeyman trade certification and/or technical diploma (Electrical / Instrumentation preferred)
  • Well developed interpersonal, team, customer service, organization/multi-tasking and communication skills (both written and verbal) are required
  • Experience in comissioning and start-up of major industrial systems and equipment
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
