Warehousing/Shipping and Receiving Technician Sherwood Park
The Warehousing/Shipping and Receiving Technician position is a multi-functional role responsible for, but not limited to the Warehousing/Shipping and Receiving that supports the Sherwood Park district business requirements.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to guidelines as set out by the PIMS (Purchasing and Inventory Management Services) group and participate in a continuous improvement culture
- Participate in performance, personal objectives and responsibilities measurement processes
- Assist in the consistent and reliable tracking of inventory movement, location and status changes, with the ability to communicate changes to the user community
- Work as a part of the PIMS group, assist in the ongoing inventory model and data entry
- Participate in the quarterly and yearly audits, as well as perform cycle counts as required and defined by the PIMS group (some travel is required)
- Willingness to provide support to internal customers in the event of inventory requirements outside of normal operating hours
- Preparation of goods to be shipped, following safe shipping and packaging practices, as well as ability to legibly complete bills of lading, Transportation of Dangerous Goods manifests and other related types of documents
- Receiving of goods, with the ability to pay special attention to quality, quantity and condition of goods
- Warehouse of received goods in compliance to PIMS requirements and safety policies
- Ensure that received goods are stored and handled in regards to manufacture specifications and Inter Pipeline Fund standards
- Provide suggestions on surplus or obsolete equipment and make recommendations to PIMS supervisor
- Communicate with and support field personal in achieving project success
Education, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the oil and gas sector in a Warehouse/Shipper Receiver role
- Strong safety mindset is essential
- Strong communication skills are required
- MS Office skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Must posses and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Must posses and maintain a valid forklift ticket
- Ability to work in Maximo, SAP, JD Edwards or similar type of software is required
- Minimum grade 12 diploma; post secondary education is an asset
