Measurement Advisor (Conventional Pipelines) Optional Field Location
The Measurement Advisor is a technical specialist in the area of liquid measurement. This individual will be based out of Calgary, Sherwood Park or another field office location and will report to the Director, Pipeline Field Operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for continuing to improve measurement practices and standards for our Conventional pipeline systems. This position will work closely with pipeline field operations, operations managers and oil movements to improve measurement performance and predictability. The Measurement Advisor will work with other specialists in developing a formal measurement program.
Extensive travel, with some overnight stay, will be required for this position.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
- Ensure IPF measurement procedures and processes are updated where appropriate, and are adhered to through monitoring and auditing
- Ensure IPF complies with regulatory requirements and industry standards regarding liquid hydrocarbon measurement
- Provide training on measurement procedures to field operations
- Monitor, evaluate and provide analysis on measurement data trends
- Lead investigations with local field staff into measurement anomalies
- Work with field Supervisors to prioritize and resolve measurement issues
- Work with Third Parties to gain agreement on measurement results
- Work with other IPF specialist in improving IPF's measurement program
- Advise field operations and Project Engineering on measurement-related projects
Experience, Education, and Skills:
- In-depth working knowledge of industry measurement standards and regulations
- Minimum 10 years experience related to liquid hydrocarbon pipeline measurement and quality control
- Must possess post-secondary education in engineering technology or equivalent with formal training in measurement standards (API)
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with company personnel and Third Parties
- Must be proficient in MS Office for data analysis, reporting and document writing
- Proven experience in writing procedures and standards and training field personnel on those procedures
- Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and analytical skills are essential assets for this position
- Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 driver's license
