Technical Support Analyst Calgary
As a member of the Information Technology team, the Technical Support Analyst is primarily responsible for the troubleshooting and resolution of desktop issues; and the setup, installation, and configuration of desktop hardware and software. This position reports to the Manager, Information Technology and is located in the Calgary office.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
- Provide desktop support to IPF's user community
- Troubleshoot problems related to product applications, installation and configuration
- Install and configure computers and peripherals on data networks
- Responsible for the maintenance and integrity of desktop hardware
- Design and implement software images
- Assist network administrators on technical projects and assignments
- Document user issues and related resolutions in the call tracking system
- Follow standard helpdesk operating procedures
- Identify opportunities to modify processes or utilize new technologies to improve best practices and maximize utilization of recommended products
- Work within a flexible schedule including after-hours support
Education, Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of technical support/desktop support experience
- Network/server administration experience is an asset
- Outgoing, self-motivated personality. Friendly presence and helpful attitude. Good oral, written and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; remain productive during slow times, be able to multitask effectively, exercise patience and professionalism during stressful situations
- Ability to work responsibly with or without direct supervision
- Excellent technical troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Citrix, TCP/IP networking, desktop PC imaging and deployment required
- A+, MCSE certifications preferred
- Experience in supporting a Citrix environment is an asset
- Experience with Microsoft XP/Vista, Office 2007, batch/VB scripting an asset
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
- Experience and involvement with IT projects an asset
- Valid Driver's Licence required.
